In February Greg, Dave and Axle went to The Ffresh 2013, the student moving image festival of Wales, hosted this year by Glyndwr University in Wrexham.
This was a great chance for the team to mingle with and get professional advice from some leading industry experts. Companies and studios such as The Mill and Tomato gave insightful master-class sessions to festival attendees, offering advice on creative design and productivity.
The team also enjoyed the showcase from It’s My Shout Productions, a Welsh based film production company which gives opportunities to industry first-timers and works in conjunction with the BBC to produce short films, written and produced by new talent.
Experts from TV, Film and Video games were on hand to fire questions at and offer inside-stories about how things work behind the scenes. The reception at Glyndwr was excellent and the venue itself was perfectly selected to provide the space and technical equipment necessary for an event like Ffresh.
On the Friday evening, the Perygl boys attended the excellent Bedroom Live session which was presented and recorded before a live studio audience in the Universities TV studio.
This was the team’s favourite event of the festival. Combing digital media with live acoustic performance; Bedroom live recorded two acts – the haunting Golden Fable and the sublime Cowbois Rhos Botwnnog.
This act from North Wales sang three songs in beautiful harmony, filling the studio with the magic of their wonderful brand of folk ballads.
Here’s a video-blog that the team shot whilst at the event itself….
